In California, state law imposes specific criteria for "service and repair contracts" for homeowners. This Residential Solar & Energy Storage System Service and Repair Contract is designed to comply with those requirements including the defined format, mandated notices, limitation on a maximum contract value of $750, along with certain additional restrictions. When the service or repair work exceeds $750, a home improvement contract ("HIC") is necessary, encompassing many of the same requirements and sections contained in solar installation agreements for homeowners.
