This Solar Designer Services Agreement is used by solar design firms and individuals ("solar designers") who make plan-sets for solar systems that contractors submit for approval to building departments. The Agreement outlines the solar designer’s terms with the solar contractor and provides for the services to be performed pursuant to work orders at set fees and on call assignments at hourly rates. A referral fee for the solar designer is included for referrals that result in a contract for services between the solar contractor and a customer. Other key provisions include that the designer is indemnified from potential claims from the contractor and its customers. The Agreement also contains a limitation of liability for the design services. This Agreement is designed to be mutually protective of the solar designer and contractor.
